I recently tested out a solarweave sling and I now love it. I have a baby who was not old enough to wear sunblock this past summer and I needed a way to protect him from the sun. I was out in direct sunlight for two and a half hours. (It was hot!!) I did put some sunblock on his arms and legs, in case they should stick out of the sling unnoticed, but I didn't put any on his back or front. The sling worked great. I put him in the hip carry and tucked the leg that was behind me into the sling so it was not exposed to the sun and then I used the tail to cover his front leg. He had a big floppy hat on, so he had absolutely no skin directly exposed to the sun. We were there for a couple hours (he slept in there for most of it) and I did not put sunblock on myself, because I usually do not burn. Well, let me tell you I got burned! I had a sunburn on the top of the shoulder that was not covered with the sling and the areas on the other shoulder that were not covered by the sling. The skin that was under the sling was not burned and my baby had no sign of any sunburn or even a hint of a suntan. The sling was super lightweight and dried very quickly. I definitely recommend it!
